One other thing I like about Tanto Cuore is that the physical size of each set is smaller. Seaside has them, another reason that it's my favorite set in Dominon. I realize that Dominion does have some interactive cards. Tanto Cuore also seems more interactive than Dominion. This helped make Seaside my favorite set of Dominion. Mechanically, the duration cards in Seaside appeal to me as they remind me of a short term version of the chambering mechanic from Tanto Cuore, which reminds me of the constructs from Ascension. But most people I've played Dominion with insist on mixing the sets together, diluting the theme. I did pick up Seaside just because I like the theme. Obviously prefer the theme on Tanto Cuore, as Dominion usually lacks it. If you like Ecchi Maids, then Tanto Cuore is obviously better than Dominion for theme, if you don't, it isn't. For my money, get Star Realms or one of the first two Ascension sets (really hated Rise of the Vigil, the new mechanic was awful) if you want that.Įdit: Not analyzing the theme at all. Tanto Cuore is probably the better game for casual players, if they don't mind the theme, there's a lot of fun moving parts, but once you move past that, it's a much weaker game overall. Market at $4 is much more ridiculous than any card that should ever seriously be printed. That and there's some hilarious miscues on their pricing. The "frustration" of engines gumming up for casual players is actual a huge part of the game balance of Dominion. You'll find half way through the game that you know who will win, because engines never ever gum up. As a result, several viable strategies are completely destroyed, and the game begins to resemble something more similar to Ascension or Star Realms - fun in its own right, I suppose, but lacking a lot of the depth of Dominion. Tanto Cuore misses the entire tempo of Dominion, where you have to choose strategically when to start greening, and where engines can blow themselves up with too much green. I've played quite a lot of Dominion, and several games of Tanto Cuore, and I've got to say that the winner is clearly Dominion, and not just for theme.
